Wow, have we been busy! Javier has been preparing like crazy for his workshop (in the two-three hours a night max. he can spare) but also on a "major big deal top secret project" for work. It's ok, he's done with that as of yesterday, so I'm not talking out of school. The hard part of that for him, though, was that it literally kept him at work until 3AM, so any time he had to calm his nerves about the seminar through actual preparation was completely eaten up.

I have been taking classes to prepare for the Series 7 Exam. They are four-hour classes, 2x/weekly. I have to admit that it is remarkably difficult to maintain enthusiasm for attending a four-hour lecture on Muni Bonds and MSRB rules after a day of work, and certain knowledge that I will not see Galen for yet another day. :-( However, this is a very finite thing, with positive gain at the end, so I am very happy to get it out of the way.

All of this, however, has led to an incredible lack of time, and itinerant increase in stress for us. Fortunately, as I said, it is all finite, so it feels a bit like running a marathon, and we're at about the 20-mile point now. Next week Javier will leave for a week in Spain, I will finish my last week of classes, and Galen will complete his last week of school. After that, Javier returns, we have the weekend of the 4th of July to look forward to, Galen has vacation, and I will have time to study for the actual exam. Following that it will REALLY TRULY BE SUMMER!!

As for the tiny things that we actually remember 40 years from now: Galen had his first school pictures taken (he looks like ME this year!), we celebrated very quietly our 5th wedding anniversary last Saturday -- we were still too poor from the fraud debacle with our bank account to actually DO anything, so we had a very pretty, quiet dinner at home; Galen and I feted Papa for Father's Day with a book that we have actually given him THREE TIMES NOW, and a card that Galen picked out of a man balancing on four chairs way up on a skyscraper. Javier loved that one! More? soon.
